Twig was my first competitive agility dog, and you couldn't ask for a better teacher! Twig is a powerful dog with a mind of his own, and takes advantage of any indecision. He has taught me to handle each and every part of a course, to be decisive and in charge at all times--otherwise he takes the money and runs! Twig always gives me his all, and has been a wonderful partner to work and live with. He earned his ADCH in 6 shows, and was ranked in 2004 in Top Ten in Tournament and Standard. Twig qualified for the Agility Nationals for 3 years, and qualified for and planned to attend the World Team Tryouts in 2005, but unfortunately, his right cruciate ligament , which had been giving him trouble for a year, finally ruptured right before Tryouts. He has had surgery to repair the ligament, and ran for a year in Veterans/Preferred classes with our daughter, Erin. We retired Twig in late 2007 due to physical soundness issues. He has always been very hard on his body, crashing into and through things, and it finally caught up with him. We don't want him to be crippled in his old age, so he is no longer being trained, and instead, enjoys the life of a pet dog.
