Captain has been a slow maturing dog, and wasn't ready to start serious training until the spring of 09. He is a very natural, powerful dog with lovely square flanks, a big scopey outrun, and beautiful pace. Sheep just flow off of him. He is quite natural at driving as well, has great feel for his sheep. We've just begun to introduce shedding, which he thinks is great fun. He started running Pro Novice Fall 09, and has either won or placed in almost every trial. I hope to have him running Ranch and Open in 2010.
He is a very confident dog, great with people and other dogs, and has a very easygoing, good-ol'-boy personality. He is smart, very biddable, and easy to train. He stands 21", is exceptionally athletic, and has a huge stride with blistering ground speed.
