CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
FUNDAMENTALS OF AGILITY CLASSES:
foundation skills in preparation for competition

BASIC FOUNDATIONS #1:Novice Skills For dogs new to agility. Open to trainers familiar with clicker training, and who have basic off leash control of their dogs, and who plan to compete.  The class will introduce the use of structured games to build drive and motivation, provide a solid foundation for mastery of obstacles, and will introduce the rudiments of handling with flat work. Handling skills such as distance and close work are begun, and the introductory mechanics of good jumping style are introduced as well.

BASIC FOUNDATIONS #2-3: Advanced Novice:  This 2 course foundation series offers continued work on developing handling skills, and completing the foundation for reliable obstacle performance. Skills taught will include front crosses, rear crosses, pinwheels, jump chutes and grids, targetting, contact end behavior, and all obstacles.

ADVANCED FOUNDATIONS: Intermediates &  Advanced Intermediates:  We offer several courses at the intermediate level. These courses are for those polishing the foundation work--independent obstacle performance for speed and accuracy, introducing work on technical sequencing and directional control, and continuing to build on systematic handling. Our emphasis is on developing a clear communication system with the dog, that allows him to accurately work with confidence, speed, and enthusiasm.  These are also good courses for those needing remedial  or retraining work on either obstacle performance or handling, and for working on foundation problems or defecits.

COMPETITION CLASSES:
polish, proof, become more competitive

NOVICE COMPETITION: For those already competing in Novice and Open. The focus of the class will be developing independent obstacle performances, distance work,  obstacle discrimination, jumping skills, while  maintaining motivation and focus. Course analysis, memorization skills and strategy are also addressed each week.

MASTERS COMPETITION: This class will challenge teams with coursework, sequences and
drills.  The focus of the class will be on polishing skills,  and building course analysis skills. Open to those competing in Excellent and Masters.
